Peaches Delight

I've been in the photo editing mood and we've been canning like crazy around here — peaches, apples, crab apples...! So, I give you the fruits of both labors! :)

Ah, the joys of Summer...

I love summer. Period.

 The bright, sunny mornings when everything is so fresh and new.
 The hot afternoons when you've finished work for the day and can sit in the shade of a tall, leafy ash, a good book nestled in your hands{current read: The Looking Glass Wars} and your favorite dog leaning against your legs.

But my favorite time is the long evenings and brilliant sunsets. My time to ride.
  Lately my friend Jacque{formerly CC} has been up at her grandparents, my neighbors, and we've gotten to ride together a lot. Or should I say adventuring? We go up the gullies and down through the trees, Jake, Jacque's horse, often finding the lowest branches to walk under, much to her dismay.
 Roanie's spooking problem is gradually getting better. She used to dance-out and lurch at the slightest rustle in the bushes, but since we've been riding with Jacque and Jake, I've made her lead, something she is not accustomed to. It's been interesting to say the least :P With monsters lurking in that sagebrush, or just over the hill. The wildlife has boomed up there in the pasture too, adding to the experience. So far I've seen two foxes{probably they have a litter of pups together :)}, a band of young buck whitetails, a stray antelope, a coyote, a hawk family with a giant nest, a huge "friendly" owl that took a swoop at us and freaked Roanie out the rest of the ride, a badger, a skunk loping weirdly up the valley, and countless cottontail bunnies and jack rabbits.

The sunset last night was fantastic, I only regret that I had no working camera to capture it. Describing it with words is impossible. But the colors.... Fiery orange, purest gold lining, shining white, soft, muted pinks, and cool river blue...

I can't help being thankful for the place GOD has planted me. It's just so perfect and complete.

What is your special time and place? What does a beautiful sunset mean to you?

Inspiration: A photography contest by HorseFeathers

{Click to for details}

A beautiful flower is an inspiration to me for it reminds me of this bible verse:
"Consider how the lilies grow.
They do not labor or spin. Yet, I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Luke 12.27
How often do we {especially girls} need to be reminded that often the most beautiful thing we can put on comes from the inside. Therefore, a flower, to me, is not just an inspiration, but a reminder.

This may come as an obvious pick for me, but never the less it still holds true.
Horses cannot help but inspire patients, kindness, self-control, bravery, and understanding.
Any who disagree do not understand the true meaning of being an Equestrian.

Saaaaadness

*sigh* Yesterday my cousins took off for home taking my older brother with them. :( I had sooo much fun while they were here - I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now!
  I really wanted to go down with them but #1 I don't have enough money for a plane ticket back and #2 I really don't want to go on my first plane ride alone.
 Drat.
I miss them a lot already. But next year, my whole{extended} family is thinking about going down and we all rent a beach house. How wondrous would that be?? ohpleaseohpleaseohplease..!

Here are some pictures of the things we did:

Campfires!

Uh, yeah. This is what happens when you throw a bunch of Christmas tree on at once.
It blackened my brothers face. Genius. :P

Flower pounding for window art at a historical school house

I like the way my blue flower one turned out :D

Moved our Grandpa into an assisted living.

Went to the Tri-State Museum
{I'll post all my pictures on W.S. in a few day's when my computer isn't so slow}

Got stormed on many times. Practically every night.

Stood on the geographical center of the nation!
The picture's bad because it was really sunny and bright that day. But we were there!

{pic taken by Mum}
Celebrated Mummy's bifdog{inside joke} :D with a Sacurtort{sp?}: a really rich German chocolat{I like spelling it the French way :)} cake with strawberry filling. Yum.

Other things we did:
 Riding
 Driving on back roads{one of my favorite things to do while eating ice cream}
 Ate lots and lots of ice cream
 Family reunions
 Played soccer
 Watched the soccer World Cup
 "Stole" and painted rocks 8D
 Went on donut runs for Grandpa at nine at night. We had to go to three different stores before we found *one* glazed donut.

  Yes, great memories were made :)

Should I?

Do you think I should start a photo blog? Please vote!
I take loads of pictures but I don't often post them, so maybe if I had a blog specifically for photos I'd do better.
Any thoughts?

a LOT of photos I meant to post...

^ Snow storm... even if it doesn't look like it:P
vA necklace I made for a friend's b-day. I 'packaged' it in an old frame I made look like weathered barnwood by a little use of sandpaper.

^Another b-day necklace:)
