Good News!

Auntie had treatment today and everything went great!
Thanks for all your prayers!
~Gwyn

Has this been the worst week(s) for me or what?

(more)Horrible news! My dear lil' mini lop, Mr Bunn is gone! And I am sad to say that he has no chance of returning:'(
You see, every morning I would let him out of his cage and he would run free the whole day and be put back in at night(because of coons, coyotes, owls, etc.). Rabbits are very 'homey', so to speak; they never venture far from their homes where they can hide and be safe if need be, so I didn't worry about him running away(especially since the other bunny was still caged). Well, a few nights ago he wasn't around to be put in. I searched all around the barn yard and sheds and no Bunn. I looked every where! Finely I had to give up and go back to the house, hoping he would survive the night. Well, that night I woke up to the sound of--*gulps*-- coyotes. Nooooo! And then another horrid sound: a rabbit in distress. I leaped out of bed and grabbed a torch. Running outside I searched for the place the racket was coming from. The rabbit was still screaming so it was still alive. I was still looking when the sound stopped and everything went quiet. I had no idea where to look and no sound to guide me, so I had to go back and wait for morning. In the morning I found nothing. Not one tuft of hair.
It's been a few days since then and still no sign of Mr Bunn. I'm sad to finely conclude that it was Mr Bunn that night. No rabbit survives long out here. Especially tame ones.

The reason I didn't post this while it happened was because I was hoping to turn it in to a happy lost and found safe post. Guess not. <:'(

Another sad note: My brother's newt, Herold the Second has died. Sad days!
Us being us, we couldn't just dig a grave for him. No, we sent him off like a king! We gave him a funeral pier of gasoline and a dixie cup! *kaboom kaboom!* We love playing dangerous! and what better way to say good bye to our Herold?
*Note: Mum and Dad were at a dinner party while this commenced:P

Quiz Results!!

Gwyn:

Age: {est.}14 1/2

Gwyn struggles in a world that views women as total inferiors to men. She wants to fight and prove that women too can do adventurous things. She longs to explore the world and discover new things; and one day, she shall.

Gwyn is constantly getting in to trouble, from falling asleep in lessons to endangering half the population with a crazed runaway horse. She loves practical jokes, especially when it concerns a snake and some hapless person’s bed.

But Gwyn also has a quiet side, though seldom seen. She loves music and books, but most of all she loves the tales, or legends of old that are passed down orally through songs and plays.

Ëarwen and Olive Tree, you are most like Gwyn: Independent, mischievous, brave, and in love with animals. And perhaps a bit fool hardy.

Emy{pron. ee-mee}:

Age: 14

Emy has been best friends with Gwyn since childhood, her mother taking Gwyn in as almost a second daughter until her tragic death left Emy an orphan at age 7.

Emy is almost the exact opposite of Gwyn. She enjoys quiet and peace and wishes wistfully of the life of a noble.

Her lovely singing and dancing has promoted her to the higher parts of the traveling minstrels.

She hopes to one day be married to a good man and be a good mother to their children.  She clings tightly to the Bible and the LORD.

Emy is a good counter weight to rambunctious Gwyn, though she has some what despaired of ever teaching her friend to be a true lady.

Eldarwen, you are most like Emy: Quiet, sweet and wise.

Will:

Age: 15

Will’s past is darkened by a rough childhood, but despite that he is friendly and fun to be around. Thoughtful at times, reckless in others.

He comes along later in the story than the others, so I shan’t say too much more about him.:){And also he’s ‘under construction’; He hasn’t told me much about himself yet;)}

Bethany, you are most like Will: Friendly, funny and with a few secrets.

Nobody was Tyrel and I don’t have much time left so I won’t write up his part. Sorry Tyrel!

I hope you guys enjoyed the quiz!

My afternoon ride....:)

"There comes a point in every rider's life when he wonders if it's all worth it. Then one look at the horse, and he realizes - it is." - Kelly Stewart

This quote pretty much sums up the way I was feeling today; I was feeling down in the dumps because I my math score wasn't what I wanted.
I'll say right now that I am a perfectionist and a problem solver. One of the worst feelings in the world to me is failure, with the worst being helplessness.
But, I also loath being unhappy, so I went to my tried and true way of solving all my troubles: Riding. What else? :D
I also like photography, so, feeling artsy too, I brought the camera along for the ride. And, in a way, I brought you too:)
I rode in our "neighbor's" pasture today because it has a lot more places I haven't discovered in full yet.
Going down a hill and into the old riverbed, long dried up.
A yecka plant
Over the old dam
Shyanne smelling the pine needles
Up on the hills, our neighbors have pine trees, which are rare this far north.
You can see in this pic that the brood mares have stomped and eaten any grass that was under the tree at one time into oblivion
A dead tree, torn apart by time and weather. And curious foals.
The drinking pond. I fixed it up in iPhoto to give it a vintage look.
Big sky country.

For some reason I really like this shot. I'm not quite sure if it's the colors or what...
But you can also see my purity ring I've mentioned a few times; its a christian fish<><
I like this shot as well.
A fox or badger den. Maybe even a skunk lair. (:l
Leaves I played with on iPhoto

Rocks. :P

There's nothing so good for the inside of a man as the outside of a horse. - Ronald Reagan

....Yes.... MORE drawings :D

Click to enlarge! And enjoy! I'd love feedback!!!
This one I loved drawing!! I named it 'The Irish Beast' on account of the girls hair really. She looks Irish, right?
This one was inspired by an anime(sp?) cartoon-like thingy. It was a very small picture, but my imagination took it and made this.
This is an illustration for Rachel D.'s book 'Horns of Enchantment'
So is this one... His name is Wings
This one I really like. The only problem I have is I tried to make her head tilted slightly, but it makes her face look a tad uneven:( Drat.
This crazy old man was a blast to draw!! I've never drawn a person with so much personality! It was like I knew him! His story? He claims his 'moon rocks' have magical powers: to draw birds to him. His moon rocks are birdseed. lol :P
This is kind of an attempt at a self portrait, without meaning it. lol If that makes sense:s Yeah. Me and Shyanne.:)
This is titled: 'Wishful Thinking'  because I drew it last winter when I was longing for Summer. And a marten. :)

That's all I have time for right now, but my next post of drawings will be of dragons I've made up.

Later! ~Gwyn

"Time cut! Time cut!"

Sorry I haven't been posting! As the title says, there has been a time cut on my computer time. A severe cut. Normally I am able to have an hour, but now I have only thirty minutes! That means if I were to upload more than seven pictures on here, I would only have about ten minutes for every thing else! Blast it!
This restraint is because of school and a few problems with the lil bro getting on the computer loads....
I may be able to get 45 minutes if I haggle with mum a bit.... but I don't know. I'll try to get my drawings and keep my horse blog updated.

Well, there you have it, if you were interested.

P.S. Sorry I keep forgetting to post more about my life and stuff. I always think "Why would they be interested in my daily chores, etc.?" Well, I'll try and do better. Without going over thirty minutes. O.o *sigh*

Some more drawings....but not all of them

This one I really liked drawing. Its an Irish Wolfhound finding a lost colt in a blizzard. I named it 'Snow Angel'
This is horse is named Charm, he's from a book I read awhile back.

You've probably seen this guy on my sidebar. His name is Sun Brier from 'King of the Wind'. He's my best horse drawing and needless to say my favorite.:) *gushes*

I'm having mixed emotions about this one. I kind of like it and yet.... not. :s

This isn't all of them. I probably will post a couple more drawings post.
All items are copyright of Gwyniver.

Horrid reminder that summer is over....

*groans* Last night I began my 'odd exercises' {as some people call them} again after neglecting them all summer. I'm paying for it now! My back is tight, my arms feel like they're about to fall off and my stomach  hurts. Even typing hurts! How pathetic is that??
What I do twice a day is a mixture of yoga {thank goodness I already have good balance; another thanks to horses!} stretches and aerobics.
I start with the stretches gradually shift over to 'yoga', {or my poor excuse for yoga} then I begin with the harder stuff; 20 push ups{I feel it!}, 25 sit ups, heaven knows how many times I do the weights...! I don't count because it makes me tired faster thinking of all those pull ups!
As I uncurled this morning I was reminded by my stiff self that I had to do it all again. Wimp that I am, I curled up and slept for another hour. Grrr. By the time I did get up{mad at my self} it was nearly 8! I did do the exercises, however, much to the protest of my limbs.
And through the pain and stiffness, I feel very good about myself. I love the physical challenge{even if it doesn't sound like it} it gives me and the sense of accomplishment and the over all healthy feel I get afterwards.
Another thing that keeps me going is competition. You're going to think me extremely dumb, but, the person I compete with is actually my own character from my book, Gwyn. Ridiculous, huh? Yeah, but it helps. Every time I feel like quitting I think of her and how she would be able to do it for a lot longer, and it drives me on. I will not have a character in better condition then me!! Lol! I guess I set a goal for myself without even noticing X-)
Well, we'll see how long I can compete with my imagination before I drop dead.

Oh! and if I do survive until tonight, you can expect more drawings...:)

Drawings from my sketch book

Just a few drawings... click to enlarge.
This is a concept sketch for a final drawing in my art class. Which I ended up hating the finished product.

This is one of my favorites!!! {even if it doesn't have a horse} I love my goats. And I miss them. The person wasn't actually intended, but I needed a center focus {other then another goat} to balance it out.

This is another concept sketch page, where I explored the movements/features of a colt. Don't ask me what the human is doing in it. I have no idea. She just popped up.

This is one of my first 'good' dogs. I got the idea from a birthday card.

Ahhh. This little hedgehog has quite a story, but I'm afraid its frightfully long and so I'll just say that his name is Hedge-a-hooga. .... yeah....

More drawings {and hopefully paintings} are on the way!!

Homeschool Picnic/ role play

Yesterday evening was our Homeschooler's picnic/ kicking off the school year.
There were a lot of new families this year, which I found odd. Usually we have only one or two new people join us, but this year there was at least seven! Most of them are young families, with toddlers and preschool-aged kids, so now we have even more little people running about! It's chaos!
Last night I just had to laugh at our motley crew. Most of us(homeschoolers) are ranchers too far away from anything to even consider public schooling. But there are the, hmm, how would you describe them? Urban types?
The rancher dads talk about cows(or in my friend's case, buffalo) and sheep while on the other side, the {I'll just call them urban} dads talk about their jobs and stuff like that.
The rancher moms will talk about cows, jams, veg gardens, kids, ect. and the urban moms will talk about laundry and their children.
I'm not favoring or anything, this is what was really being said last night. It was kinda funny:) Its like two different languages! Almost.;)

After awhile I got tired of talking about...hmm, I don't even remember what it was us teen girls were talking about.:s So, I found my friend Jamie and we walked around the park. Several times.
I wanted to join the boys and play kick ball; it looked like so much fun! But none of the other girls wanted to, making up various reasons why they couldn't("Its immature,"). I didn't want to be the only girl!
*sigh* It stinks getting old:(
Ah, well. I'll go riding today and maybe tonight and that will make me feel better:)

Oh, before I forget, the role play ends tonight at midnight*(mt. time)! {*it has to sound professional!}:P

Till later then!

{some of} My Medieval Dress Designs

My sister came by so I was able to use her camera for this.... *yays*

All these pictures and designs, etc. are copyright of Gwyniver, blah, blah, blah. Basically, if you take one of these without my permission you will be doomed with the worst sort of doom courtesy of me:)
Hope you liked them!
*Note: I traced the ladies from the waist up from paper dolls. I couldn't draw so consistently if my life depended on it! I just used them for dummies:) All the rest is mine. {Thats why the one in the islander-looking outfit {#5} is so short! lol!}
Oh, and expect a lot more art from my sketch book! Coming soon...:)

~Gwyn

Medieval Dress Design?

I'm wondering... Do any of you like designing Medieval dresses and/or clothing?
I do.:) In fact I was going to upload some pics of the ones I have already done, but my camera is missing!:s Drat.
I don't actually sew them{I couldn't to save my life!}, I just draw them on tracings of paper dolls.
So, does anyone else out there design clothing?

For Ëarwen, Bethany and Olive Tree(role play)

It appears that there isn't a limit on how many comments can be on one post, so we can continue with the one we're using.(yay!)
Another thing about the role play; I don't know if any of you are getting bored with it or not, but lets try and wrap things up by next Wednesday(the 9th), 'kay? Me? I'd be happy to go on forever, but all things must come to an end!:)
Thanks so much you guys for playing with me! I'm having loads of fun, and I really hope you are too!:D

Cheers! ~Gwyn

Writing Dilemma!

I have reached a point in my story where I want to add someone. A furry someone to be exact. I want to give Gwyn a mink(like a tiny weasel, only 8 inches when full grown), but I'm afraid it might take the attention off Skyrian, the main horse. I'll give you a summery of how it would work out:

Gwyn is checking traps in the forest, Skyrian following quietly behind her. She comes to one of the smaller traps and finds a less than half grown mink with its tail stuck in the trap. Feeling sorry for it, she  carefully releases it, but finds the end of its tail broken. She takes it back to the cabin and care for it, etc...  eventually the mink becomes Gwyn's pet.

This is just the pre vis.  so it's sketchy, but what do you think? I just don't want the focus taken off Skyrian. After all, the first book is The Legend of Skyrian!
Input, please!

The Lover's Waltz

I meant to post this ages ago! This is what Em and I played for her Senior recital. I played 2nd violin.
Click The Lover's Waltz to view! It is my favorite song ever! Almost.:)

An explanation and a realization

Some of you may have been wondering why I haven't been commenting/posting for the past few days, well.... My dear, dear, dear friend has been staying over at my house the past three days. Now this wouldn't be such a special thing except she's from Ukraine and I only get to see her for a few days every two years. An Extremely long time for both of us.
She is every ounce as horse-crazy as I am, but, unlike me, she has to live in a city with over 4 million people. I don't know how she can handle it! I get claustrophobic in a city of just 80,000! She is, however, able to have riding lessons(several hours away) every Saturday for an hour. (But still!)
Anyway, these past days we tried to give her enough horse time to last her till
she comes back. An impossible task, I know, but it was fantastic! We spent all day every day riding, playing and just hanging out with the horses. I have to admit that over the last month I haven't made much time to just be with them. I've been riding and working them, but that's it. I realized that if I wanted a stronger bond with them I would have to do more than that. I have to spend more time just petting them and talking to them, just being there with them. I know it all seems terribly simple and perhaps it is, but I was blind. The three days that we spent pretty much living in the pasture petting, talking, riding, and laying on the horses' backs with out the hinderance of saddles or bridles/halters changed my relationship with them for the much better! We get along better and understand each other on a higher level. I can now ask for something to be done while riding and get a faster response. It is truly amazing. I have never had a horse change so dramatically, so fast, and so simply. And it was more than just one horse!
If my friend had not come and had not been horse-crazy I would be most assuredly still be struggling with Shyanne and her side step, something that has always troubled her. But after being her pasture friend instead of just her instructor, we can work together. She has always had a problem trusting people completely {Thank you previous owner} but now I can feel her giving a bit more of herself, holding less back. She no longer tries to run when I go to catch her, either! You see?? This is just a mere fraction of what happened in three days! I cannot believe it! I cannot explain it well enough--! It's just--wow. All I can say.
If you have a problem with your horse I strongly encourage you to just spend time with it, in its own place; no bridles, no saddles, nothing but you and the horse.
The change is incredible.

My friend told me that I gave her a dream: to live as I do.
She gave me understanding. And it now nickers at me.

Us riding unbridled (I have the dark hair) My friend liked Stuffy best
Double Stuff liked my pants
